David W. Barrow III'sField Day - 2003I will be taking part in the Ozaukee Radio Club's Field Day exercise on the weekend of June 27-29, 2003. We will be at Lazy Days Campground (map). To see some pictures from last year's Field Day see the club web site. The public is invited to come, observe, and even try to make some contacts from Saturday noon through Sunday noon. The Sunday, July 7, 2003, issue of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel had a great article on our Field Day effort. Article The Monday, July 8, 2003, edition of the News-Graphic quoted me entirely too much. I'm afraid that I didn't know when the ORC was organized - so I guessed - wrong. Article (LONG download)
There is also an internet site that plots any use during the last 24 hours: Dave's route For my location that updates every three minutes Last time my tracker was on I was at. These web sites allow anyone with internet
access to track amateur radio mobiles. The original intent was to
use a "ham" radio in the mobile and another ham radio with a computer to
do the tracking - but - once Steve Demise found a way to interface ham
radios to the internet - as they say - the rest is history.
